Greater Marietta Music Teachers Association (GMMTA) was formed in 1997 by those who felt the need to establish another teachers group in Cobb County. Members establishing the new association were: Sue Barnes, Nancy East, Jackie Hutson, Louise Lyon, Mary Owens, Carole Roach, and Mary Wise. Nancy East served as the first president followed by Marcena Kinney, Jackie Hutson, Carole Roach, and Bonnie Davis.

Student activities include the Multi-Keyboard Concert, Piano Olympics, Pianothon, Solo Festival, GMMTA Auditions, and Scholarship competitions. Please visit the designated pages on our website to learn more about these activities.

Members meet monthly at Southern Pianos in Marietta except for July and November when there are no scheduled meetings. May and December are luncheon meetings at another location. We enjoy varied programs by clinicians, performers and speakers from the Atlanta Metro area. Teachers receive a monthly newsletter concerning group activities.

GMMTA is the local chapter of
the
Georgia Music Teachers Association (GMTA) and the
Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). We welcome all
teachers of music.
