Fall Festival
The Fall Festival for GMMTA has taken several forms over the years. We have had
Piano Ensemble Programs (Mini Monster), Theory Olympics, and Duet Programs. We are planning to add a Jazzing Day to
our line up of Fall activities. The Fall program is always a fun activity. While it is designed to be a learning experience,
it also adds the element of camaraderie and enjoyment. The judged events are in February and March. All of the profits
from the Fall Festival go toward the scholarships which are awarded in March. All students are invited to join for a fun
day of music during the Fall Festival.

Pianothon
The Pianothon is a major fund-raiser for scholarships funded by GMMTA. Performing in Belk Department Store at Town Center is a fun way to begin the Holiday Season.
Southern Pianos places three pianos in locations selected by the store for the weekend our students and teachers will be performing. Piano locations can change from year to year based on the store's merchandise displays.
Members register for blocks of time in 15 minute increments with a maximum time of two (2) hours allowed for each studio.
Most students perform holiday music but that is not a requirement. In previous years, students have enjoyed playing solo and ensemble music.

Solo Festival
Solo Festival is an opportunity for all students to perform for comments and rating from a qualified judge outside GMMTA. It also serves as a first hearing for Audition Entrants. This event is open to member's students performing in the piano, instrumental or vocal categories.
Students must perform two pieces. They may be selected from standard classical repertoire, or from teaching, pop, or religious material. Memorization is strongly encouraged, but is not a requirement. Certificates are award to each student participating and a seal will be added to the certificates of those students who have memorized their material.

GMMTA Auditions
In contrast to Solo Festival, which offers opportunities for students at all levels of ability to participate, Auditions are meant to be competitive.
Students chosen by the judges will perform in a Winner's Recital and those receiving an Outstanding Performer certificate will be allowed to proceed to Georgia Music Teachers Association's Auditions.
Repertoire requirements are as stated for Solo Festival.
The Judges for this event also choose the winners of the scholarships to be awarded that year.
